Brian and Myrna Buhler live in Cloverdale, BC, not far from their three children and seven grandchildren. At the tender age of 13, Brian’s life was tragically altered when his 36 yr. old mother died of brain cancer. This loss not only left a huge hole in Brian’s heart but precipitated a life-changing encounter with Jesus. Ironically, his mother’s death was also his “burning bush experience”. By the age of 16, Brian was preaching to 75 Jr. High students every week in a friend’s basement. Fifty years later, though “retired”, Brian is still preaching the transforming presence and power of Jesus. His 40 years of vocational ministry led him and Myrna to serve churches in Calgary, Abbotsford, North Vancouver, and Cloverdale. Since retiring in 2020, Brian now serves as a spiritual director, homiletical coach, and guest teacher. In his spare time, he enjoys painting bold West Coast landscapes, long walks, and playing the piano and tennis (arthritic hip permitting!).
