We've been given a mission.

Jesus said to go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that He commanded us. A summary of that would be to love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength, and to love our neighbours as ourselves.

We are recipients and participants.

The gospel is so much more than just a moral code; it's a story of redemption and transformation that we are continually being invited into both as recipients and participants. The call of Jesus to follow Him and to love our neighbours isn't just about how we feel in a given moment. It is a call to action; to participate in God's mission of renewing the world.

What this looks like at Emmaus Road

  • consistent preaching and reading of the Word of God corporately + individually, believing in faith that it will transform our hearts, renew our minds, and make us wise unto salvation.
  • giving of our resources (time, money, energy) in the service of others through various local and global initiatives and organizations.
  • Praying for eyes to see, and the courage to take the opportunities we have to share the gospel in the ordinary everyday vocations and places that God has placed us.
