"Then Jesus told his disciples, 'if anyone would come after me,
let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.
"
Matthew 16.24

Who is a disciple?

A disciple of Jesus is someone who has decided to take Jesus up on His invitation to follow Him. They are those who not only believe 'in' Jesus (that He existed) but who believe 'into' Jesus by committing (in the waters of baptism) to live in the Way of Jesus.

What does discipleship look like?

J.I. Packer always reminded us that discipleship is not an instinctive process that happens magically, but that "Christianity needs to be learned!"  Jesus didn't commission us to entertain people or to simply create converts; He sent us out to make disciples, to baptize them in the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, and to teach them to obey all that He has commanded us (Matthew 28.19-20). As a church we are committed to helping followers of Jesus learn the Way of Jesus. It is our desire that our members would become disciples of Christ; comprehending, apprehending & experiencing firsthand the riches that God in Christ has made available through the gospel.
